Who we are

TrailThrottle is a dirt bike rider event scheduling service operated by SolidDog Technologies LLC(“TrailThrottle, ” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Scope

This policy covers the TrailThrottle website at trailthrottle.com and its subdomains. You must be 18 or older to use TrailThrottle; the service is not directed to anyone under 18 (see Age requirement below).

Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account information — your email address and password when you create a password-based account. Passwords are stored only as an Argon2id hash; we never store your password in plain text.
• Profile information — display name, rider skill level, home region, time zone, and optional age group, bike, and bio. We also store your email-notification preferences.
• Legal confirmations — your confirmation that you are 18 or older and records of the Terms version you accepted and when you accepted it.
• Ride and community activity — events you organize, event details and meetup locations, attendance (RSVPs), favorites, comments, discussion, and notification activity.
• Reports — information you submit when you report an event, comment, account, or riding area, plus the status and handling of the report.
• Support requests — your reply email, optional name, topic, message, submission time, and, when you are signed in, a link to your account.

Information received from Google:

• If you choose Continue with Google, Google provides information needed to authenticate you, which may include your verified email address, name, profile image, Google account identifier, approved scopes, and authentication tokens or session data returned during sign-in. We request only the openid, email, and profile scopes; we do not request access to Gmail, contacts, Google Drive, or other unrelated Google data.
• We use Google user data only to authenticate you, create or link your TrailThrottle account, secure the sign-in flow, and provide the service you request. We store the external account link and any authentication data returned to us for those purposes.
• We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising or model training. We disclose it only to the service providers needed to host and operate TrailThrottle, or in the legal, safety, and business transfer circumstances described below.
• When you delete your TrailThrottle account, we delete the stored Google account link and tokens and clear the name and profile image on your account. Other TrailThrottle records follow the retention rules described below.

Information collected automatically or generated by the service:

• Security and access data — IP address, browser and request information, essential session and authentication data, most recent successful sign-in time, bot-verification results, rate-limit records, and related security events.
• Diagnostics data — page and request performance, errors, session and internal identifiers, and approximate country or region. Essential monitoring starts automatically when configured and is used for security, troubleshooting, and reliability—not advertising or cross-site profiling.
• Operational records — account role and status, verification state, timestamps, moderation actions, notifications, and other identifiers needed to operate and protect the service.

Cookies and browser storage

TrailThrottle uses essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect authentication and forms, complete Google Sign-In, prevent automated abuse, remember functional choices, and operate diagnostics. Our authentication session may remain active for up to 30 days unless you sign out.

Security and diagnostics providers may also use short-lived browser storage for abuse prevention and service monitoring. We do not use cookies or browser storage for advertising or cross-site profiling. You can clear them through your browser, but doing so may sign you out, restore dismissed notices, or interrupt security features.

How we use information

We use your information to:

• Create, authenticate, secure, and operate your account and profile, including Google Sign-In when you choose it.
• Verify your email address and let you reset your password.
• Provide the core service — creating, finding, and joining rides; showing member profiles and attendees; saving favorites; delivering notifications; and hosting event discussion.
• Protect the service — verifying you’re human at sign-up/sign-in, applying rate limits, investigating reports, preventing abuse, administering accounts, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
• Communicate with you about your account and the events you’re involved in.
• Receive and respond to support, account, safety, and privacy requests.
• Monitor performance, diagnose errors, measure service operation, and improve reliability.

What other users can see

TrailThrottle is behind a login wall — content is visible to signed-in members, not the public web. Among signed-in members:

• Your display name, rider skill level, and home region are visible on your rider profile.
• If you provide them, your age group, bike, and bio are also visible on your rider profile.
• Your email address, password and authentication data, time zone, and notification preferences are not shown to other riders.
• Event details, including the meetup location and the list of riders attending, and event discussion are visible to signed-in members. This is intentional, to support coordinating rides. Do not post anything in your profile or events that you are not comfortable sharing with other members.
• Free-text fields can reveal information you choose to include. Profile bios, event descriptions, meetup details, and comments are visible to signed-in members. Report details and support messages are visible to the personnel handling them.
• The public landing page uses illustrative sample content and does not expose real member or event data before sign-in.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as needed for:

• Operating the service — providers that support hosting, databases, authentication, transactional email, bot protection, rate limiting, and diagnostics may process account and contact information, submitted content, request and device information, internal identifiers, and operational data needed for their service. Transactional emails may contain account, event, support, or moderation information. Email engagement data is collected only if tracking is enabled.
• Legal and safety purposes — when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our Terms, investigate abuse, or protect users and the public.
• Business transfers — during a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Essential security and diagnostic providers are not used for advertising or cross-site profiling.

TrailThrottle is a United States-based service, operated from and offered for riding activity in the United States. We do not operate TrailThrottle in other countries. Even so, service providers and their subprocessors may process or store information in the United States and other countries where they maintain facilities or personnel. A provider's processing location does not mean that TrailThrottle operates in that country.

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as we need it, then delete or anonymize it. In short:

• Deleting your account removes your authentication data immediately and your profile data within 30 days.
• Content others participated in (event threads, attendance) is anonymized to “Deleted rider” rather than deleted, so those records stay intact.
• Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days.

Your choices and rights

• Access and update — view and edit your profile and account details in your account settings.
• Delete your account — you can delete your account and associated personal data from account settings; deletion follows the Data Retention Policy.
• Email — we only send transactional emails (such as verification, password reset, and event notices) that are part of the service. We do not send marketing email.
• Privacy requests — contact support@soliddog.tech for questions or requests about your data.

Security

We protect your information with measures including Argon2id password hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and re-authentication before sensitive changes such as updating your email or password. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

Age requirement

TrailThrottle is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and you confirm this at sign-up. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you before or when the changes take effect. This policy describes our practices; continued use does not by itself provide consent where separate consent is required. If a change requires your consent, we will ask for it before applying that processing.
